  Ain't It Funny
  (by Terry Hollahan)

  I remember years ago
The first time love knocked on my door
Just a kid with open arms
Ain’t it funny how love comes along

Learned the hard way every time
Back seats, drive-ins, telephone lines
Tried it all a time or two
Ain’t it funny what loves makes us do

We play with love and soon we learn that hearts are easily broken
Pick up all the pieces and then we play with love some more

Soon we tire of runnin’ ‘round
Decide it’s time to settle down
Say the words for wrong or right
Ain’t it funny how love makes us fight

We work at love and still we find that hearts are easily broken
We pick up all the pieces put them back where they belong

As the years go rolling by
We scream and shout and laugh and cry
But every day brings something new
Ain’t it funny how love gets us through
We scream and shout and laugh and cry
I think its love that gets us by
